BIOGRAPHY

Natalie has been empowering businesses and individuals for over 10 years. Most of Natalie’s clients mirror who she is as a person: self-made, hardworking, tenacious, dedicated, innovative, and fearless. Whether it is advising clients on how to protect their business’ assets, or preparing a witness for trial, the goal is always the same: to empower the client, to make them stronger, better, more prepared so that they can reach their goals and succeed. Natalie considers several of her clients to be close personal friends and approaches each new client with the intention that the relationship be a lasting one.

Natalie has had the unique opportunity to see the practice of law from a variety of different viewpoints having worked for a North Carolina State Court prior to going to law school, clerked for the Department of Justice during law school, and working for a large United States Government contractor and private law firms after graduating law school.

She is a member of Frazier Park Community Garden and Carolina Breast Friends where she offers advice and comfort to individuals who have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer.

After being the first in her family to graduate from college, Natalie left the comfort of her home town in Eastern North Carolina and moved to Washington, D.C., where she became a foodie. Natalie prefers to spend her free time surrounded by nature. She can often be seen gardening with her partner George in the front yard of their home, riding her bike to the office, and walking their cat, Roger Parker, on a leash in Freedom Park. Her dislikes include writing and speaking about herself, heart of palm and cancer.

    What Natalie's Clients Say...

My family’s businesses have been operating for many years and Natalie Potter has been the most responsive attorney we have hired to date. She is available for same day consults when needed and returns e-mails and phone calls promptly. When working with her to analyze our companies, policies, and procedures, she quickly identified high risk factors and helped us make adjustments. She continually reaches out to us when laws have changed that our firm needs to react to.

      What Natalie's Clients Say......

As someone focused heavily on art, I had little knowledge of how copyright and other laws around it worked, but I have a much firmer grasp of it now after meeting with Ms. Potter. She thoroughly explained the ins and outs of the relevant laws surrounding my work and answered all of my questions with precise detail. For anyone else working with any form of art medium, I would HIGHLY recommend her to help you understand how to protect your work and the rights you have as an artist!read more

Natalie is who I always recommend for anyone who needs a business attorney! She is a knowledgeable, thorough, and professional in her work. She is honest and advises clients on what is in their best interest. She and her assistant Heather answer all questions and make sure you have a full understanding of what you are dealing with. She was and is my attorney. She defended me in a civil matter in which she was successful in getting the case dismissed with prejudice! Essex Richards, P.A. is an amazing firm with vast experience and excellent attorneys. I never hesitate to recommend the people who are the best in their field - that is Natalie Potter! - Karla Shepardread more

Natalie and her team were great to work with! Natalie and Heather, both very personable, welcoming, and answered all of my questions and didn't make me feel senseless or shame me for any questions I had. I had knowledge of the NC tenant laws as I've been in the property management business and Natalie assisted me with questions and concerns regarding my case. This team kept in touch to ensure I was satisfied with the process and the case once it was taken care of. I highly recommend Natalie for any issues you may have. I can say that the quality in their services are exceptional and I highly recommend!read more
