Kris represents individuals and businesses in a wide range of employment matters including discrimination, wrongful termination, and wage and hour law violations. She drafts and advises clients on severance agreements, employment agreements, and non-compete agreements. Kris frequently handles charges of discrimination before the EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission), administrative proceedings, and litigation in state and federal court.

After graduating from New York University School of Law in 2003, Kris worked for a boutique employment law firm in New York City. She also gained experience working at the Staff Attorney’s office in the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Kris returned home to North Carolina in 2008 where she continued working as an employment attorney with a local Charlotte firm. In 2016 she became a solo practitioner until she joined Essex Richards in 2019.

Away from the office, Kris devotes her time to skating with the Charlotte Roller Derby as “Sensa Doom.” She also loves distance running and has participated in several half and full marathons.
